Creating Safe Spaces for Young Voices: e-CAPH’s Contribution to Adolescent Health Week 2026
In one of the classrooms we visited, a student asked a question many young people carry but rarely voice. It was honest, uncertain, and deeply important.
That moment captured the essence of what Adolescent Health Week is truly about.
Across 44 countries, this global movement reached over 6 million people, creating awareness and driving conversations around adolescent health. At Enhancing Communities Action for Peace and Better Health Initiative (e-CAPH), our contribution was rooted in something simple but powerful: showing up for young people in our own communities.
Through school-based engagements, we created safe and open spaces where adolescents could speak freely about their health, ask questions without fear, and access accurate information. These sessions were not lectures. They were conversations.
We listened to their concerns.
We addressed myths and misconceptions.
We discussed confidence, choices, and the importance of seeking support early.
Adolescent health is not a side issue. It shapes education outcomes, mental wellbeing, and future opportunities. When young people are informed and supported, they are better equipped to make decisions that positively impact their lives and communities.
We are grateful to the teachers who welcomed us, the students who spoke up, and the volunteers who made these engagements possible. While we appreciate the recognition received for our contribution, the real impact lies in the confidence and awareness young people carried with them after each session.
Because real change often begins with a single conversation.
